UCSD Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation Issues (GOSOI)
Elected Member, 2018-2020 :
The Chancellor's Advisory Committee on Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation Issues (GISOI) advises the Chancellor through the Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (VCEDI) on issues regarding policies and practices that will improve the campus climate and overall experience for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, agender, aromantic, fluid, and other intersecting (LGBTQIA+) communities at UC San Diego.
North Park Main Street (NPMS)
Elected Board Member, 2007-2011 + 2014-2015
The North Park Business Improvement District (BID) is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the revitalization of the North Park neighborhood, aimed at bringing new life and a lasting vitality to North Park. Among other duties, I ran the Hospitality Committee, which saw the creation of the North Park Farmers Market, a long running monthly art event, Ray at Night, and connected most of the North Park restaurants and retail locations in the neighborhood.

Unity In Color
Organizing Participant 2017
A global photography series, where members represent the unity in strength of diversity. Standing together in solidarity to show our support for Women's Equality. Unity In Color’s activists acknowledge shared histories and move towards a collective future. Wearing yellow and gold as a nod to earlier feminist movements and ancient symbols of the divine feminine, while acknowledging that inclusive and intersectional feminism is the standard today.

Radical cheerleading combines elements of non-violent direct action with theatrical elements including costuming, spectacle and choreographed dance. As the Iraq war was beginning, a group of us came together to create a squad of radical cheerleaders as a performative style of political activism, derived from mainstream cheerleading.
Food Not Bombs

Food Not Bombs is a loose-knit group of independent collectives, sharing free vegan and vegetarian food with others. Food Not Bombs' ideology is that myriad corporate and government priorities are skewed to allow hunger to persist in the midst of abundance.

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Mexican Migration Field Research Project 2018-2019:
Research conducted by UCSD students participating in the Mexican Migration Field Research Project 2018-19 compiled qualitative and quantitative data through surveys and interviews of middle school students in Tijuana, Ensenada, and Tecate, with a goal of focusing on education in Mexico and specifically, the education of students in English classes.

URBN Coal Fired Pizza 3085 University Ave, San Diego, CA (2013-2015)
General Manager: Overseeing all operations of a high volume restaurant and bar serving craft pizza, beer, and cocktails. Duties covered everything from budgeting, inventory and ordering to menu design and hiring. I focused on staff training, the craft cocktail and local beer bar program, ordering, marketing and local community partnerships.
The Rubber Rose 917 E Street, San Diego, CA (2006-2014)
Owner/Manager: The Rubber Rose, a sexuality boutique, opened in July of 2006 with the goal of radicalizing the industry and society’s approach to human sexuality, the boutique was a pioneer in the world of all things sex and culture. Additionally, I was often asked to be present in a number of conversations and lectured on a full spectrum of topics regarding human sexuality at a number of Universities and community centers (see full list of lectures, panels, and workshops below).
